About Me
Hello! My name is Carly and I am super excited to teach you something new about the world of musical ensembles. I have been playing clarinet for nine years, and it is my passion. I have performed in approximately thirty different ensembles throughout my years of playing. Aside from my small debut in a jazz combo, I have performed in orchestras, bands, and wind ensembles. Since my love of music began with the clarinet, I will tell you a little about my instruments.
My Clarinets
There are hundreds of different types of clarinets, all differing by the material, quality, and key. My main instrument is the Buffet Crampon R13, the most popular professional grade clarinet. It is in the key of B flat, is made of stained granadilla wood, and has silver-plated keys. Since orchestral compositions usually contain parts for clarinet in A, I also have an A clarinet to avoid the hassle of transposing. My A clarinet is a Buffet Crampon E11 which is a student model. My clarinets are practically my children and I take very good care of them.
